Bigger & Better Footnotes

Footnotes don’t get a lot of love from web designers. Instead of providing useful info at a glance, most implementations are clunky and distracting.

Fortunately, Chris Sauvé’s jQuery plugin Bigfoot.js creates footnotes you’ll actually want to use.

Say goodbye to the context switching nightmare of click on a tiny little number - jump to bottom of page - click more links - jump back up. Bigfoot.js replaces traditional footnotes with big triggers that are easier to click on and popovers that eliminate choppy anchor links:

You can style Bigfoot.js however you want, it works on mobile (here’s a demo), and it has an extensive set of configuration options / API methods.
