CSV in, HTML out

Comma separated value (CSV) files are great for distributing data, but not for browsing through or interacting with it. Even for basic operating like sorting, you need to fire up Excel, or import as SQL & query it, or write a custom parsing script.

But, who has time for that? Get your hands on CSV to HTML Table, a JavaScript web app, written by Derek Eder, which — as its name suggests — turns CSVs into searchable and sortable HTML tables.

Here’s a demo using data from the Titanic:

CSV to HTML Table in action

CSV to HTML Table has flags for enabling downloads of the source data file, setting the delimiter, and other formatting options.
